Belongs to a new generation of conductors with high artistic training since childhood

Born in 1979, Edgar Martín belongs to a new generation of conductors with high artistic training since childhood. He earned degrees in violin, hand John Llinares, Composition (Agustín Charles) and Conducting under the tutelage of Jordi Mora, concluding this discipline at the School of Music of Catalonia with honors

He studied orchestral conducting with renowned international professors such as Salvador Mas, Ronald Zollman, Jesús López Cobos, Larry Rachleff, Josep Pons, George Pehlivanian, Donald Schleicher and most notably with Jordi Mora, who had a profound influence on his career and his vision of music through musical phenomenology.

He has been principal conductor of the Youth Orchestra and the Orchestra Soundtracks, Orchestra "A Tempo" (Zaragoza), and Chamber Orchestra of Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and assistant conductor of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Soria. Among others, he has conducted the Symphony Orchestra of Bahia Blanca, Filharmonie Bohuslava Orchestra Martinu (Czech Republic), Symphony Orchestra (Barcelona), Ad Libitum Orchestra (Barcelona), Academic Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine...

Likewise, Mr. Martín has been selected to participate in prestigious international competitions, such as the IV International Conducting Competition "Simon Blech " in Argentina, the International Competition for Young Conductors Besançon (France) or the International Conducting Competition Jeunesses Musicales Bucharest for Young Conductors. His international career has taken him to run in countries like US, Czech Republic, Argentina, Romania, Cambodia, Ukraine, Germany, Dominican Republic and France.

He has worked with soloists of international stature, such as Pilar Constancio, Ruben Fornell, Javier Zarza, Veronica Pellegrini, Alexander Trotchinsky, Sara Bondi, David Revuelta and Miguel Borrego, among others. His repertoire ranges from the Baroque era to world premieres, especially from Spanish composers (M. Prida, J. Navarro, J. Sancho, S. Perez).

His enthusiasm for music education and particularly brining music education to more disadvantaged people led him to form and lead a choir of six hundred Cambodian children who played Beethoven's Ninth with grand reception in the summer of 2011. Also, Mr. Martin was invited to conduct in July 2015 the Youth Orchestra of the Fil-Armonia Foundation in Dominican Republic giving concerts around the country and carrying out a course in Orchestral Conducting for young conductors.

Edgar Martín is currently the main conductor of the Symphonic Orchestra "Camerata Musicalis”, a title he has held since its formation in 2004. In the meantime, he is invited to conduct other orchestras around the world

Different personalities from the world of music have endorsed his potential as a conductor, «Mr. Martín is a most serious orchestral conductor with substantial experience as a performing conductor. In addition to his talent as a conductor, I found him to be a pleasure to work with and very respectful of his teachers and musical colleagues». (D. Donald Schleicher, Professor of Conducting, University of Illinois, USA)
